West Bengal Police Recruitment Board (WBPRB) is looking to recruit male and female candidates for Constable and Lady Constable Posts respectively under Kolkata Police. A total of 1666 vacant posts are available out of which 1410 are for Constable Posts and 256 vacancies are for Lady Constable. The board will start the online application process on 29 May 2022. Candidates will be required to submit their application form latest by 27 June 2022.

- All category candidates except SC/ST (of West Bengal only) are required to pay the fee of Rs.170/- The application fee for SC/ST category candidates will have to pay the processing fee of Rs.20/-
Kolkata Police Eligibility Criteria Details 2022
Educational Qualification:
- Candidates who have passed Madhyamik Examination(12th Standard) under W.B.B.S.E. or its equivalent examinations they will be eligible for this Recruitment.
- Those Candidates who have Upper Education Qualification as per the Notification or Equal form a recognized University/ College will be eligible for this Constable Or Lady Recruitment.

- Minimum Age Limit: 18 Years
- Maximum Age Limit: 27 Years.

Kolkata Police Constable Selection Process
The candidate must undergo the following selection process:
- Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET) or Endurance Test
- Written Exam
- Interview
- Medical Examination
- Verification of Character & Antecedents
- Training
- The Physical Measurement test (PMT) would check the physical requirements of all the candidates which is already mentioned above.
- In Physical Efficiency Test (PET), the male constables have to finish 1600 meters distance run in six and half minutes and the lady constables has to run 800 meters in four and half minute.
- The preliminary written test will be MCQ based exam of 100 marks and the question asked will be based on General Awareness and General Knowledge (40 Marks), Mathematics (30 Marks) and Reasoning (30 Marks). The duration is of 1 hrs. and 1/4th marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
- The Final Written Examination will be of MCQ based exam of 85 marks and the question asked will be based on General Awareness and General Knowledge (25 Marks), Mathematics (25 Marks), English (10 Marks) and Reasoning (25 Marks). The duration is of 1 hrs. and 1/4th marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
- The Interview would be of 15 marks, the candidate would be called based on the merit list and in the interview the candidate’s general awareness and suitability of the candidate for public service along with proficiency of the Bengali language will be checked.
The candidate who passes all the steps of the selection process would then have to verify their documents and later undergo a medical examination after which a merit list will be made based on the overall performance of the candidate and finally the eligible candidate would get selected.

The candidate must follow these steps mentioned below to register themselves and submit an application for the post of police constable.
- Open the official website of the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board by typing wbpolice.gov.in in your web browser.
- On the homepage of the website search for the link of WB Police Constable Recruitment 2022 and click on it.
- After which a redirected web page would open up showing the guidelines regarding the recruitment drive and the application and selection process. The candidate must carefully read all the information given.
- After reading all the details, fill all the credentials as required by the application form.
- The candidate would also be required to upload their passport size recent photograph (10-50 kb size limit), signature (5-15 kb size limit) and certain other documents like educational qualification certificates, caste certificate (if applicable) for verification.
- After filling in all the details and document, a preview of all details would be shown and the candidate must look for any errors in details and correct any mistakes if present
- The candidate must then make an online payment of the application fees using the payment gateways.
- After completing all the above-mentioned steps, the candidate must click on the “Submit” button for the final submission of the application.
