Eligibility Criteria for UPSC AEE, Officer, Scientist B and other Post

Educational Qualification:

  • Assistant Editor (Telugu) – Degree of a recognized University; (ii) Degree or Diploma in Librarianship of a recognized University or Institution and about five years’ practical experience in a responsible capacity in a library of standing. Proficiency in Telugu language.
  • Photographic Officer, Scientist ‘B’ (Toxicology) – Graduation and Two years’ experience in various branches of photography including experience in Press Photography in an organization in the field of Print or Audio-Visual Media.
  • Scientist ‘B’ (Toxicology) – Master’s Degree in Chemistry/AIC by examination/Biochemistry/Pharmacology/Pharmacy/Forensic Science and (ii) Bachelor of Science Degree with Chemistry as one of the subject from a recognized University or Institute. Three years experience of analytical methods and research therein in the field of Toxicology in any Central Government or State Government organization or recognized research institute or Forensic Science Laboratory under the Central or State Government.
  •  Technical Officer (Public Health Engineering) – Degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering or Public Health Engineering from a recognized University or Institute or passed Section A and B examination of the Institution of Engineers (India) in Civil Engineering. Post Graduate degree in Public Health Engineering or Environmental Engineering from a recognized University or Institute
  • Driller-in-Charge – Degree in Drilling/Mining/Mechanical/Civil/Electrical Engineering/ Petroleum Engineering from a University recognized by Government of India, Ministry of Human Resources Development, All India Council for Technical Education, University Grants Commission, Indira Gandhi National Open University or State Government; (ii) One year experience in operation and maintenance of drilling rigs; OR (i) Diploma in Drilling/Mining/Mechanical/Civil/Electrical /Petroleum Engineering from a University recognized by Government of India, Ministry of Human Resources Development, All India Council for Technical Education, University Grants Commission, Indira Gandhi National Open University or State Government and Five years experience in operation and maintenance of drilling rigs.
  • Deputy Director of Mines Safety (Mechanical) – Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University/Institution or pass in Section A and Section B of the Associate Membership Examination in Mechanical Engineering branch from Institution of Engineers (India) and 10 years of experience.
  • Assistant Executive Engineer (Electronics) – Degree in Telecommunications/ Electronics Engineering/ Electronics and Communications Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent. Two years experience in supervisory capacity in the field of radio aids to navigation
  • System Analyst – Master’s Degree in Computer Applications or M.Sc. Computer Science or M.Sc. Information Technology from a recognized University or Institute; OR Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or Computer Technology or Computer Science and Engineering or Information Technology from a recognized University or Institute.3 years of experience.
  • Senior Lecturer (General Medicine OR General Surgery OR Tuberculosis & Respiratory Diseases) – A basic University or equivalent qualification included in any one of the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and must be registered in a State Medical Register or Indian Medical Register. M.D.( Medicine or Tuberculosis)/ M.D.( General Medicine or T.B. and Respiratory Diseases) or M.S.( Surgery)/ M.S.( General Surgery)from a recognized University/ Institution or equivalent. Three years’ teaching experience.

UPSC Civil Services Examination 2022 – Apply Online

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released a notification regarding the online applications for Civil Service (Preliminary) Examination 2022. The last date to submit online applications is till 6 PM on February 22, 2022

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Dholpur House, New Delhi will hold the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2022 on 5th June 2021 for recruitment of various Government Job posts of Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and certain other Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ Central Services / Posts etc. (Advertisement No. 05/2022-CSP).

According to the notification, there will be a ceiling on the number of candidates allotted to each of the Centres, except Chennai, Dispur, Kolkata, and Nagpur. The Commission will allot centres based on the first-apply, first-allot basis, and the particular centre will be frozen once the capacity is attained.

UPSC Civil Services Examination 2022

Eligibility for UPSC Civil Services Examination 2022

  • Indian Civil Services 2022 Posts: 861 vacancies (PH – 34) under various Administrative Services
  • Age: Not less than 21-32 years as of 01/08/2022. The upper age is relaxable for SC/ST/OBC and certain other categories of candidates to the extent specified in the Notice.
  • Educational Qualification: Degree of a recognised university or an equivalent qualification.
  • Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to the Regulations given in the notice.
  • Number of Attempts: The maximum number of attempts permissible to different categories of aspirants, who are otherwise eligible will be as follows:
    • General Category: Six (6)
    • Physical Handicapped: Nine (No limit if SC/ST)
    • OBC: Nine  (9)
    • SC/ST: No Limit

Examination Pattern

The Civil Service competitive examination of 2022 comprises two successive stages : (i) Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective Type) for the selection of candidates for Main Examination (will be held on 5th June 2021); and (ii) Civil Services (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) for the selection of candidates for the various Services and posts (will be held in the month of November 2022).

Preliminary Examination 2022

The Preliminary Examination 2022 (on 5th June 2022) will consist of two papers of Objective type (multiple choice questions) and carry a maximum of 400 marks in the subjects. This examination is meant to serve as a screening test only with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%. The question papers will be set both in Hindi and English.  There will be a penalty (negative marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Papers.

Main Examination 2022

The Main Examination 2022 will consist of a written examination and an interview test. The written examination will consist of 9 papers of conventional essay type in the subjects set out by UPSC out of which two papers will be of qualifying in nature.  Marks obtained for all the compulsory papers (Paper-I to Paper-VII) and Marks obtained in the Interview for Personality Test will be counted for ranking.

Candidates who obtain such minimum qualifying marks in the written part of the Main Examination as may be fixed by the Commission at their discretion, shall be summoned by them for an interview for a Personality Test. The number of candidates to be summoned for an interview will be about twice the number of vacancies to be filled. The interview will carry 275 marks (with no minimum qualifying marks).

Marks thus obtained by the candidates in the Main Examination (written part as well as interview) would determine their final ranking. Candidates will be allotted to the various Services keeping in view their ranks in the examination and the preferences expressed by them for the various Services and posts.

Papers in Mains

Paper-A  : (One of the Indian languages to be selected by the candidate from the Languages included in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution). => 300 Marks

Paper-B : English => 300 Marks

Papers to be counted for merit

Paper-I : Essay => 250 Marks

Paper-II : General Studies-I  (Indian Heritage and Culture, History and Geography of the World and Society) => 250 Marks

Paper-III: General Studies -II (Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International relations) => 250 Marks

Paper-IV : General Studies (Technology, Economic Development, Bio-diversity, Environment, Security and Disaster Management) => 250 Marks

Paper-V General Studies -IV (Ethics, Integrity and Ethics) => 250 Marks

Paper-VI : Optional Subject – Paper 1 => 250 Marks

Paper-VII : Optional Subject – Paper 2 => 250 Marks

Sub Total (Written test) => 1750 Marks

Personality Test =>275 Marks

Grand Total => 2025 Marks

Candidates may choose any one of the optional subjects from amongst the list of subjects

# Geologist Group-A in Geological Survey of India: Master’s degree in Geological Science or Geology or Applied Geology or Geo- Exploration or Mineral Exploration or Engineering Geology or Marine Geology or Earth Science and Resource Management or Oceanography and Coastal Areas Studies or Petroleum Geosciences or Geochemistry.

# Geophysicist Group-A in Geological Survey of India and Scientist-B (Geophysics) Group-A in C.G.W.B.: M.Sc. in Physics or Applied Physics or M.Sc. (Geophysics) or Integrated M.Sc. (Exploration Geophysics) or M.Sc (Applied Geophysics) or M.Sc. (Marine Geophysics) or M.Sc. (Tech.) (Applied Geophysics).

# Chemist Group-A in Geological Survey of India and Scientist-B (Chemical) under C.G.W.B.: M. Sc. in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry.

# Scientist-B (Hydrogeology) Group-A in C.G.W.B.: Master’s degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology or Hydrogeology.

  • Nationality : Applicant must be an Indian citizen or else refugee from Nepal, Bhutan,  or Tibet arrived in India before 1-1-1962. Or the candidate must be of Indian origin migrated from East African countries, Pakistan, Burma, or Sri Lanka.
  • Age Limit 21 to 32 years as of 1st January 2022. Upper age relaxation will be 3 years for OBC candidates, 5 years for SC/ST candidates, and 10 years for PWD candidates.

Application Fee for Geo-Scientist  Examination 2022 :-

₹200/- to be paid either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using the Net Banking facility of State Bank of India or by using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card. No fee for SC/ST/PH/Female candidates.

  • Commencement of submission of online application: 12 October 2021
  • Last date for submission of online application: 20 October 2021
  • UPSC Geo-Scientist Pre-Exam Date: 20 February 2022

UPSC Geo- Scientist Selection Process :

  • Stage 1: Combined Geo-Scientist (Preliminary) Examination (Computer Based Objective Type Papers) for the selection of candidates for Stage-II. The  Prelims exam will be of 400 Marks.
  • Stage 2: Combined Geo-Scientist (Main) Examination (Descriptive Type Papers); and it will be 600 Marks.
  • Stage 3: The 3rd stage will be Personality Test & it will be of 200 Marks

Steps To Apply :

  • Once the site is visited, move onto the What’s New section available on the homepage.
  • Press the link comprised of Combined GEO-Scientist And Geologist Examination Notification.
  • Choose the option Press here’. Now, fill in important details mentioned in the Part-1 registration.
  • Ensure to upload a scanned passport-size photo along with a digital signature within the space available in the form.
  • Press the Continue button so that details that you have filled in will get saved.
  • Next, make sure to fill the part-2 Registration form.
