Minimum Qualification: Ph.D. Post Doctoral Degree in appropriate branch with first class or equivalent (in terms of grades, etc.) at the preceding degree, with a very good academic record throughout.

Experience :

Professor: Minimum 10 years teaching/ research/ industrial experience of which at least 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor in IITs, IIMs, NITIE, IISc Bangalore, NITIE Mumbai and IISERs or at an equivalent level in any such other Indian or foreign institution/ institutions of comparable standards.

Associate Professor: Minimum 6 years teaching/ research/ industrial experience of which at least 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent.

Assistant Professor: Minimum three years of teaching/ research/ industrial experience (excluding period of doing Ph.D.). A fresh Ph.D. may be considered for the position on contract basis.

Selection Process: Shortlisted candidates will be called for Interview.

    • a. 5% relaxation for SC/ST/PWD/NC-OBC in PG and UG. IIM Bodh Gaya will follow Australian Bureau of Deans Council’s ABDC Journal Quality List. Equivalence of ABDC Journals will be as follow: One Paper in A Rated Journals = Two Papers in B Rated Journals = Four Papers in C Rated Journals.
    • b. Minimum two Research Paper in ABDC’s “A Rated Journals” or Four in “B Rated Journals” or “Eight in C Rated Journals”. Any published book will be counted as one paper in C’ Rated Journal. One case along with teaching note published in Harvard Case Publishing/Richard Ivey/Emerald will be considered equivalent to one paper in ‘C’ Rated Journals. Preference for candidates who have guided FPM/Ph.D.
  • Associate Professor: Ph.D. in the appropriate branch with 60% or equivalent (in terms of grades, etc.) in PG, with a very good academic record throughout. Minimum three years of teaching/research/industrial experience (exclusive period of doing Ph.D.). However, in exceptional cases of candidates with excellent academic credentials, this experience requirement may be waived. A fresh Ph.D. may be considered for the position on contract basis. Candidates from Industry (Government / PSU / Research Organization) having experience of 3 years at the level equivalent to Assistant Professor may also apply.

First-class (Min 60%) or equivalent grade in Master’s and Graduation Degrees First-class (Min 60%6) or equivalent grade in Class XII and Class X. 5% relaxation for SC/ST/DAP and 3% relaxation for NC-OBC in Master’s and Candidates from Industry (Government /PSU/Research Bachelor’s degree. Eligibility/Qualification–

  1. Assistant Professor: One should have a Ph.D. degree with first class or equivalent (in terms of Grades etc.) at the preceding degree in appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout and at least three (03) years of post-Ph.D experience in teaching/research/industry for the post of Assistant Professor(Grade I), excluding however, the experience gained while pursuing Ph.DCandidates not satisfying the experience requirement for direct recruitment as Assistant Professor(Grade I) may be considered for the post of Assistant Professor(Grade II) may be regularized as Assistant Professor (Grade I) subsequently on completion of the minimum experience requirement and satisfactory performance in teaching & research during the tenure at IIT Patna.
  2. Associate Professor: One should have a Ph.D. degree with first class or equivalent (in terms of Grades etc.) at the preceding degree in appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout and a minimum of six (06) years in teaching/research/industry of which at least three (03) years should be at the level of Assistant Professor (Grade I)/ Senior Scientific Officer/Senior Design Engineer or equivalent as on the closing date of the advertisement. The candidate should have preferably produced one Ph.D. student (degree awarded or thesis submitted) as on the closing date of the advertisement. The candidate should have demonstrated adequate experience of independent research in terms of guidance of M.Tech/ MSc. and Ph.D. students, publications in reputed journals and conferences, patents, laboratory/course development and/or other recognized relevant professional activities.
  3. Professor: One should have a Ph.D. degree with first class or equivalent (in terms of Grades etc.) at the preceding degree in appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout and a minimum of ten (10) years in teaching/research/industry of which at least four (04) years should be at the level of Associate Professor or equivalent as on the closing date of the advertisement. The candidate must have produced at least two (02) Ph.D. students (degree awarded) as on the closing date of the advertisement. The candidate should have demonstrated leadership in research in a specific area of specialization in terms of guidance of Ph.D. students, strong record of publications in reputed journals and conferences, patents, laboratory/course development and/or other recognized relevant professional activities.

Age Requirements: Preferably below 35 years for the post of Assistant Professor Grade – I and 32 years for the post of Assistant Professor Grade – II as on cutoff date fixed by the Institute. Relaxation of age as per GoI guidelines.

Relaxations:

Minimum requirements of experience may be relaxed in respect of outstanding candidates evidenced through academic contribution/research publications/patents or an equivalent contribution made towards pedagogical and/or institutional developments. Candidates from industry having excellent R&D record evidenced through publication/patents/product development may be considered.

Age relaxations may be made, if needed, for candidates with past relevant experience in academia, industry, and R&D laboratories with excellent performance records.
