Kolkata Police Constable Selection Process

The candidate must undergo the following selection process:

  • Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET) or Endurance Test
  • Written Exam
  • Interview
  • Medical Examination
  • Verification of Character & Antecedents
  • Training
  1. The Physical Measurement test (PMT) would check the physical requirements of all the candidates which is already mentioned above.
  2. In Physical Efficiency Test (PET), the male constables have to finish 1600 meters distance run in six and half minutes and the lady constables has to run 800 meters in four and half minute.
  3. The preliminary written test will be MCQ based exam of 100 marks and the question asked will be based on General Awareness and General Knowledge (40 Marks), Mathematics (30 Marks) and Reasoning (30 Marks). The duration is of 1 hrs. and 1/4th marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
  4. The Final Written Examination will be of MCQ based exam of 85 marks and the question asked will be based on General Awareness and General Knowledge (25 Marks), Mathematics (25 Marks), English (10 Marks) and Reasoning (25 Marks). The duration is of 1 hrs. and 1/4th marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
  5. The Interview would be of 15 marks, the candidate would be called based on the merit list and in the interview the candidate’s general awareness and suitability of the candidate for public service along with proficiency of the Bengali language will be checked.

The candidate who passes all the steps of the selection process would then have to verify their documents and later undergo a medical examination after which a merit list will be made based on the overall performance of the candidate and finally the eligible candidate would get selected.

Assam Police Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

The candidates willing to apply for Assam Police Recruitment 2021 must be Indian citizens, permanent residents of Assam. Their names must be registered with a local Employment Exchange of Assam. Candidates must speak Assamese or any other State language fluently.

Age Limit

18 to 25 years as on 1st July of 2021 (i.e. the candidate must be born on or before 01.07.2003 and on or after 01.07.1996).

The date of birth accepted by the SLPRB will be as per matriculation or an equivalent examination certificate issued by the Govt. recognized Board.

Educational Qualification

The candidates must possess the following minimum educational qualifications.

  • HSLC or equivalent examination passed from a recognized Board or Council.
  • In addition for the posts of Constable (Nursing), Nursing Diploma is necessary.

For Un-Armed Branch: H.S. or Class XII passed from Govt. recognized Board or Council for the post of Constable, Unarmed Branch, District Executive Force (DEF).

For Armed Branch: H.S.L.C or Class-X passed from Govt. recognized Board or Council for the post of constable of Armed Branch.

Selection Process

The age limit for the post of police constable guard (Grade III) is as follows:

  • Minimum Age: 18 years.
  • Maximum Age: 25 years.
  • Born between 22nd October 1996 and 21st October 2003.
  • Age relaxation for Government Servants is up to 5 years.

Home Guards : Eligibility Criteria for Home Guards is as follows :-

  • Secondary School Certificate Exam (10th) or equivalent from a recognized board/institute.
  • Valid Driving License for heavy/light vehicles.
  • At least 5 years of service as a Home Guard Driver.
  • Knowledge of Marathi Language.
  • Height should be 165 cm.

  • Interested and eligible candidates have to go through Physical Measurement Test.
