UPSC Civil Services Examination 2022 – Apply Online

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released a notification regarding the online applications for Civil Service (Preliminary) Examination 2022. The last date to submit online applications is till 6 PM on February 22, 2022

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Dholpur House, New Delhi will hold the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2022 on 5th June 2021 for recruitment of various Government Job posts of Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and certain other Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ Central Services / Posts etc. (Advertisement No. 05/2022-CSP).

According to the notification, there will be a ceiling on the number of candidates allotted to each of the Centres, except Chennai, Dispur, Kolkata, and Nagpur. The Commission will allot centres based on the first-apply, first-allot basis, and the particular centre will be frozen once the capacity is attained.

Eligibility for UPSC Civil Services Examination 2022

Indian Civil Services 2022 Posts: 861 vacancies (PH – 34) under various Administrative Services
Age: Not less than 21-32 years as of 01/08/2022. The upper age is relaxable for SC/ST/OBC and certain other categories of candidates to the extent specified in the Notice.

Examination Pattern

The Civil Service competitive examination of 2022 comprises two successive stages : (i) Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective Type) for the selection of candidates for Main Examination (will be held on 5th June 2021); and (ii) Civil Services (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) for the selection of candidates for the various Services and posts (will be held in the month of November 2022).

Preliminary Examination 2022

The Preliminary Examination 2022 (on 5th June 2022) will consist of two papers of Objective type (multiple choice questions) and carry a maximum of 400 marks in the subjects. This examination is meant to serve as a screening test only with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%. The question papers will be set both in Hindi and English. There will be a penalty (negative marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Papers.

Main Examination 2022

The Main Examination 2022 will consist of a written examination and an interview test. The written examination will consist of 9 papers of conventional essay type in the subjects set out by UPSC out of which two papers will be of qualifying in nature. Marks obtained for all the compulsory papers (Paper-I to Paper-VII) and Marks obtained in the Interview for Personality Test will be counted for ranking.

Candidates who obtain such minimum qualifying marks in the written part of the Main Examination as may be fixed by the Commission at their discretion, shall be summoned by them for an interview for a Personality Test. The number of candidates to be summoned for an interview will be about twice the number of vacancies to be filled. The interview will carry 275 marks (with no minimum qualifying marks).

Marks thus obtained by the candidates in the Main Examination (written part as well as interview) would determine their final ranking. Candidates will be allotted to the various Services keeping in view their ranks in the examination and the preferences expressed by them for the various Services and posts.

OCES and DGFS 2022 is a Gateway to career opportunities in the Department of Atomic Energy through Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) Training School and its affiliates.
If you are an Engineering Graduate or a Science Post-Graduate having a minimum of 60% marks, DAE offers you an opportunity to appear for Selection Process for admission to its training programmes through DGFS and OCES 2022.

One-Year Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates and Science Post-Graduates (OCES) at BARC Training School and its affiliates, and Two-Year DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme (DGFS) for joining M.Tech. in specific specializations at various Indian Institutes of Technology is offered in OCES and DGFS 2022.

Scientific Officer Vacancy Recruitment by OCES-2022 and DGFS-2022

OCES Trainee Scientific Officer (TSO) and DGFS Fellows are paid a stipend of ₹35000 per month during the period of their training and a one-time book allowance of ₹10000. DGFS Fellows are to be reimbursed the tuition fee for M.Tech. / M.Chem. Engg. and are additionally paid a one-time Contingency Grant of ₹25000 to meet M.Tech. / M.Chem. Engg. project related expenses.

On successful completion of training, the candidates will join as Scientific Officer in the pay scale of Pay Level-10 of 7th Pay Commission starting ₹56100 with 3 increments (₹63000/-), a Group-A category government job at one of the DAE units with attractive career progression up to the highest echelons.

BARC Recruitment 2022 Selection Process

Candidates for BARC OCES / DGFS 2022 are chosen in two stages.

I. Candidate Shortlisting Through Screening:
Screening for Selection Interviews is done in two ways:

(a) via a BARC-conducted online exam or

(b) through the GATE 2021 / 2022 exam. Score

The candidate can take the test online or use his GATE score via GATE Entry. If a candidate wishes, they may utilize both approaches, i.e., they may take the Online Exam and use their GATE Score for GATE Entry to improve their chances.

II. Candidates who have been shortlisted for an interview will have their final interview.
Candidates will only be shortlisted for an interview using the first method.
They will determine the final merit list solely based on interview scores.
