IIT Madras Special Faculty Recruitment 2021 vacancies
- Assistant Professor Grade-I/II: 49 vacancies (SC-13, ST-06, OBC-NCL-25, EWS-05)in the Pay Level-12 starting basic ₹101500/- and Pay Level-10 starting basic ₹70900/- respectively, On completion of 3 years as Assistant Professor Grade-I, the incumbent shall move to Academic Pay Level-13A1 ₹ 131400-204700/- and Assistant Professor Gr.-II on completion of one year of experience, shall move to Academic Pay Level-11.

Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualifications
Ph.D., with first-class or equivalent at the preceding degree. Specialization in the appropriate area/ branch with consistently good academic record throughout. Specific qualifications and specialization areas sought in each department are made available in Annexure-I in the official notification.
- Experience
- Assistant Professor (Grade II): Candidates with less than three years of industrial/ research/ teaching experience may be considered for this post.
- Assistant Professor (Grade I): Candidates with at least three years of industrial/ research/ teaching experience may be considered for the post.
Note: The experience gained while pursuing a Ph.D. is excluded from consideration.

Age relaxation for SC/ ST/ OBC-NCL & PwD candidates will be applicable as per Government of India norms. For EWS candidates age should be preferably below 35 years.
Selection Process
The shortlisted candidates will be called for personal interview round. Outstation candidates called for personal interview will be reimbursed To & fro 2 Tier AC Railway fare or economy class airfare by the shortest route, between the current place of duty / residence within India and Chennai.
