The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct the Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS) II 2024 on 1st September 2024 for admission to the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun; Naval Academy, Ezhimala; Air Force Academy, Hyderabad; and Officers Training Academy, Chennai. Eligibility Criteria for CDS 2 2024 Notification

(A) Age Limits, Sex, and Marital Status:

  • Indian Military Academy: Unmarried male candidates born between 2nd July 2001 and 1st July 2006.
  • Naval Academy: Unmarried male candidates born between 2nd July 2001 and 1st July 2006.
  • Air Force Academy: Unmarried male candidates aged 20-24 years, born between 2nd July 2001 and 1st July 2005.
  • Officers’ Training Academy (Men): Male candidates (unmarried or married) born between 2nd July 2000 and 1st July 2006.
  • Officers’ Training Academy (Women): Unmarried women, issueless widows, and issueless divorcees born between 2nd July 2000 and 1st July 2006.

(B) Educational Qualifications:

  • Indian Military Academy and Officers’ Training Academy: Degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
  • Naval Academy: Degree in Engineering from a recognized University/Institution.
  • Air Force Academy: Degree from a recognized university (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Degree in Engineering from a recognized University/Institution.
  • Candidates in the final year of their degree course can also apply, provided they submit proof of passing by specified dates.

(C) Physical Standards: Candidates must meet the physical standards as prescribed in the detailed advertisement on the UPSC website.

Selection Process for UPSC CDS 2024 Application

The UPSC CDS 2024 Selection Process is designed to assess candidates’ aptitude, intelligence, and physical fitness. Managed by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), the process includes several critical stages:

Indian Navy Recruitment 2022: Selection Procedure

The selection procedure is as follows:-(a) Shortlisting of application will be based on normalised marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying degree. Marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying degree will be normalised.(b) For candidates who have completed MCA and M.Sc marks obtained in all semesters will be considered. In all other cases, marks obtained by candidates in all semesters till fifth semester will be considered. Candidates selected in the final merit list will be required to submit the proof of the completing the qualifying degree with minimum 60% of marks. Candidates failing to meet the criteria will not be permitted to join the Academy.(c) Candidates having Naval/Army/Air Wing ‘C’ certificate issued by the National Cadet Corps will be provided relaxation of 5% in cut off marks for SSB shortlisting. However, at the time of extending the relaxation, the mandatory educational qualification of 60% marks in qualifying degree will be required at the time of shortlisting of candidates and at subsequent stages of selection.(d) No communication will be entertained in this regard.(e) Their SSB interviews will be tentatively scheduled from Aug 21 onwards at Bangalore/ Bhopal/ Visakhapatnam / Kolkata. Change of SSB Centre for interview is not permissible under any circumstances.(f) Shortlisted candidates will be informed about their shortlisting for SSB interview through e-mail or SMS (provided by candidates in their application form). Indian Navy Recruitment 2022: Medical Examination

SSB recommended candidates are required to undergo a medical examination as applicable to their entry. Change of medical hospital/center is not permissible under any circumstances.

Merit List

Based on performance in SSB merit lists would be prepared and medically fit candidates will be appointed for training on the basis of availability of vacancies. Candidates declared fit in the medical examination would be appointed as per availability of vacancies in the respective course/entry.

Tenure of Commission

Selected candidates will be granted Short Service Commission initially for 10 years extendable by maximum 04 years in 02 terms (02 years + 02 years), subject to service requirement, performance, medical eligibility and willingness of candidates.

To save time during the application submission window, candidates can fill in their details and upload documents in advance. The online submission of application is as under:-(a) Whilst filling up the e-application, it is advisable to keep the relevant documents readily available to enable the following:-

  • Correct filling up of personal particulars. Details are to be filled up as given in the Matriculation Certificate.
  • Fields such as e-mail address, mobile number are mandatory fields and need to be filled.

(b) All relevant documents (preferably in original), marks sheets up to 5th & 7th semester for regular & integrated BE/ B.Tech courses and all semester mark sheets for other degree examinations, date of birth proof (as per 10th & 12th certificate), CGPA conversion formula for BE/B.Tech, Commercial Pilot Licence(CPL) issued by DGCA, Government of India, Merchant Navy certificate issued by Government of India, Ministry of Shipping & Transport, NCC ‘C’ certificate issued by the National Cadet Corps and a recent passport size color photograph should be scanned in original JPG/TIFF format, for attaching the same while filling up the application.(c) If any scanned document is not legible/readable for any reason, the application will be rejected. Candidates are to take a printout of the application and carry it while appearing for an SSB interview.
