Educational Qualification for RRB Technician Notification 2024
All candidates must thoroughly review the eligibility criteria for the RRB Technician Post. The educational qualifications required are as follows:
Post Name: Grade I Signal Technician
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science or B.Sc. Degree in Physics/Electronics/Computer Science/Information Technology/Instrumentation from a recognized University/Institute. In combination with any sub-section of the basic streams of Physics/Electronics/Computer Science/Information Technology/Instrumentation from a recognized University/Institute (OR)
- Three years Diploma in Engineering in the above basic streams or in combination of any of the above basic streams (or) Degree in Engineering in the above basic streams or in combination of any of the above basic streams”
Post Name: Grade III Technician
Educational Qualifications:
- Matriculation from recognized institutions of NCVT/SCVT in the trade of Forger and Heat Treater/Foundryman/Pattern Maker/Moulder (Refractory) (OR)
- Matriculation/SSLC Plus Course Full Act Apprenticeship in relevant trades.
Selection Process for RRB Technician Vacancy 2024
The RRB Technician Recruitment Selection process comprises three stages as outlined below:
- Computer Based Test (CBT): The initial stage involves a Computer Based Test conducted at various exam centres set by RRB. The paper consists of 100 questions, with one mark awarded for each correct answer. It’s important to note that there will be a negative marking of 1/3rd for each incorrect answer.
- Document Verification: The second stage of the recruitment process involves document verification. All original documents of the applicants are thoroughly verified and assessed to ensure eligibility and legitimacy.
- Medical Examination: The third and final stage of the recruitment process is the Medical Examination. Candidates selected during the documentation stage are summoned for a medical examination conducted by the Railway Board. This is to ensure the medical fitness of the candidates so they can efficiently carry out the duties assigned to them for the selected post.
Application Fee for RRB Railway Technician Recruitment 2024
To complete the application process, candidates need to pay an application fee of ₹500 (₹250 for SC/ST/Ex-SM/PWD/Female/Transgender/Minorities/Economically backward classes). The fee can be paid online or through a payment challan at SBI/Post Offices. Candidates from reserved categories will receive a refund of ₹400 after appearing in the 1st stage CBT, while ₹250 will be refunded for reserved category candidates.

Examination Fee for Railway Technician Recruitment 2024
The examination application fee of ₹500/- is payable through online mode, including internet banking, debit/credit cards, or UPI. Upon appearing in the Computer Based Test (CBT), ₹400 out of the fee will be refunded after deducting bank charges. For SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, Female, Transgender, Minorities, or Economically Backward Class (EBC) candidates, the application fee is ₹250, which will also be refunded upon appearing in CBT after deducting bank charges.
