Conditions of Eligibility for CDS-(I) Exam 2022
(A) Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status
For Indian Military Academy: Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January 1999 and not later than 1st January 2004 only are eligible.
For Naval Academy: Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January 1999 and not later than 1st January 2004 only are eligible.
For Air Force Academy: 20-24 years i.e. Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January 1999 and not later than 1st January 2003 only are eligible.
For Officers’ Training Academy – (SSC Course for Men): Male candidates (Unmarried or Married) born not earlier than 2nd January 1998 and not later than 1st January 2004 only are eligible.
For Officers Training Academy – SSC (Women Non- Technical) Course : (a) Unmarried Women, issueless widows who have not remarried, and issueless divorcees (in possession of divorce documents) who have not remarried are eligible. They should have been not earlier than 2nd January 1998 and not later than 1st January 2004.
(B) Educational Qualifications
For Indian Military Academy and Officers’ Training Academy: Degree of a recognised university or equivalent.
For Naval Academy: Degree in Engineering from a recognised University/Institution.
For Air Force Academy: Degree of a recognised university (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Degree in Engineering from a recognised University/Institution.
Candidates who are studying in the final year Degree Course and yet to pass final year degree examination or equivalent examination can also apply for the Examination, but they will be required to submit proof of passing the Degree Examination or equivalent examination by the specified dates.
(C) Physical Standards
candidates must be physically fit according to the physical standards for admission to the combined Defence Services Examination (CDS) (I), 2022 as prescribed in the detailed advertisement on the UPSC website

Candidates (excepting Female/SC/ST candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 200/- either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash or by using the Net Banking facility of SBI or by using Visa/ Master Credit/ Debit Card.

SSC Commissioned Officer in Indian Army 135nd TGC Entry
Selected candidates for Technical Graduate Course (135th TGC) will be granted Short Service Commission (SSC) on probation in the rank of Lieutenant from the date of commencement of the course or the date of reporting at Indian Military Academy (IMA), whichever is later and will be entitled to full pay and allowances admissible to Lieutenant during the training period.
Pay & allowances will be paid after the successful completion of the training of 135th TGC. On successful completion of training, cadets will be granted Permanent Commission (PC) in the Army in the rank of Lieutenant.

Initial screening and shortlisting of applications will be done at Directorate General Remount Veterinary Services, Integrated HQ of MoD (Army) before forwarding them to Dte Gen Recruiting of IHQ of MoD (Army). Common reasons for rejection of applications during screening are given at para 7 below.
SSB Interview
Candidates whose applications are found in order shall be detailed to appear for the Service Selection Board on a specified date. Detailed instructions along with date and place of SSB will be intimated directly by Dte Gen Recruiting, IHQ of MoD(Army).
Merit list
Merit list of the candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit will be prepared. It is to be noted that mere qualifying at the SSB interview does not confirm final selection. Merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate at SSBs only and as such higher educational qualifications, previous achievements have no role to play.

Eligibility Criteria for 51st NCC Entry in Army
The Criteria of NCC ‘C’ Certificate holders to appear directly for SSB for SSC (Non-Technical) at Officers Training Academy, Chennai : (i) Educational Qualification: Degree of a recognized University or equivalent with aggregate of minimum 50% marks taking into account marks of all years. (ii) Service in NCC: Should have served for a minimum of two academic years in the senior Division of NCC (iii) Grading: Should have a minimum of ‘B’ Grade in ‘C’ Certificate Exam of NCC.
NCC 51 Nationality
A candidate must either be: (i) A citizen of India, or (ii) A subject of Bhutan, or (iii) A subject of Nepal, or (iv) A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st of January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or (v) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. A certificate of eligibility will, however, not be necessary in the case of candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal.
NCC 51 Age Limit
For NCC candidates (including wards of Battle Casualties) – 19 to 25 years as on 01 Jan 2022 (born not earlier than 02 Jan 1997 and not later than 01 Jan 2003; both dates inclusive).
Candidates should note that the date of birth as recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary School Examination Certificate or an equivalent certificate on the date of submission of applications will only be accepted and no subsequent request for its change will be considered or granted.
Educational Qualification
Degree of a recognized University or equivalent with aggregate of minimum 50% marks taking into account marks of all the years. Those studying in final year are also allowed to apply provided they have secured minimum 50% aggregate marks in the first two/three years of three/four years degree course respectively. Such students will need to secure overall aggregate of minimum 50% marks in degree course if selected in interview, failing which their candidature will be CANCELLED.
Senior Division/Wing of NCC Qualification
Service in NCC : Should have served for minimum two/three years (as applicable) in Senior Division/Wg of NCC.

Pay Scale & Stipend
A stipend of training is ₹56100/- during the training is 49 weeks at OTA, Chennai. On completion, they will be commissioned as Lt in the pay scale of 7th CPC Pay Level-10 ₹56100-177500.

Method of Selection
All Applications in the prescribed format will be forwarded to Rtg. Directorate (NCC) through HQ DG NCC. The NCC Units/GP HQs will forward the applications to State Directorates who in turn will forward the same to Hq DG NCC. On arrival at the SSB, the Shortlisted candidates will be administered stage-1 of the two stage testing procedure.
Shortlisted candidates will be called by SSB for two stage selection procedure to be held at Selection Centres, Allahabad (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bangalore (Karnataka) and Kapurthala (PB).
Candidates must note that they can appear for ONLY one of the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview, either SSC (NT)-115 Course (April 2022)/SSC (NT) (Women)-29 Course (April 2022) as CDSE candidate OR NCC (Spl) Entry-51 Course (April 2022). Candidates are required to give undertaking to this effect under the declaration part of the online application.
