Army Remount Veterinary Corps Recruitment 2024 Vacancies

Vacancies available: 15 (Male-12, Female-03).
Age requirement: Applicants must be between 21-32 years old as of 20/05/2024.
Qualification criteria: Candidates should possess a BVSc./BVSc. & AH degree from a recognized Indian University or its equivalent.
Pay details: The selected candidates will receive a salary according to the 7th CPC Pay Matrix Pay Level-10B, which amounts to ₹61300/- along with Military Service Pay of ₹15500/- and an additional 20% NPA.

Selection process: The initial shortlisting of applications will be conducted at the Directorate General Remount Veterinary Corps. Eligible candidates will then be called for the SSB (Services Selection Board) on a specified date. During the SSB, shortlisted candidates will undergo stage-1 of a two-stage testing procedure. Those who qualify will proceed to the Group Test, Psychological Test, and Interview, which will span over a duration of 5 days.
Medical Examination: Candidates recommended by the SSB will be subjected to a thorough Medical Examination conducted by a Board of Service Medical Officers.

Training & Service Terms for Indian Army Remount Veterinary Corps 2024

Commission Grant

Upon successful selection, candidates will be commissioned at the rank of Captain. This role involves leading and managing the Remount Veterinary Corps in various operational and administrative capacities.

Training

Selected candidates will undergo post-commission training at the RVC Centre & College in Meerut Cantt. This training is designed to equip them with the necessary knowledge, skills, and expertise to fulfill their roles effectively.

Ante-Date Seniority

Candidates holding postgraduate or doctorate degrees in veterinary science from a recognized university, approved by the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) in India or abroad, will be granted ante-date seniority. This seniority is 12 months for those with postgraduate degrees and 24 months for those with doctorate degrees prior to their commissioning.

Suitability for Retention of Commission

If an officer is found unsuitable within one year of the grant of commission, their commission may be terminated before the contractual service period of five years. This ensures that only candidates who meet the required standards and demonstrate their suitability for the role continue to serve in the Remount Veterinary Corps.

Tenure of Engagement

All officers commissioned in the Remount Veterinary Corps will serve the Indian Army for five years from the date of conferment of commission, subject to fulfillment of other conditions. The period of engagement may be extended by another five years based on the officers’ performance and the needs of the Indian Army.
